Minutes of Career Development Task Group 15th June 2005 Senate House Library 15th June 2005 2pm – 4pm Present: David Gee (Chair), Vivien Robertson, Antony Loveland, Diana Herman, Sally Maitland, Cathy Parr, Dave Puplett (administrator) 1. Apologies: Elspeth Keith, Ruth Moore Elspeth has left the group after 3 years of service, due to increasing work pressures. 2. Chartership workshops The chartership series has been regarded as a success by all involved, including the 25 delegates. The feedback for all events was positive, with only minor complaints about events that ran slightly over, and the timing of the events being so late in the day. The group integrated well with each other due to the practical content of most of the sessions. Efforts should be made in the future to prevent the delegates sitting only with their colleagues. Consideration will be made this year for the changes made by CILIP to the method of Chartership. The new ACLIP status was discussed. This task group would be responsible for catering for this, but demand difficult to judge. ACTION – Dave to draft an email for SDO’s to attempt to judge the need for support for ACLIP candidates. It was decided that 25 was the right number for the chartership groups, in order to maintain the group work element.
