We also hope to meet Lousie Doolan soon, possibly at the Review afternoon, 19th March. 3. Minutes of previous meeting: Accepted as accurate record. 4. Seminars Visits 06/07: Reports: UEL Visit: Repeat visit, 6th December Very successful, fully booked at 12 people. University of Middlesex, Hendon Campus: Shepherd Library Took place on 31st January, fully booked with 15 people. Very well received visit, which took place during a quiet week for the library. Demonstration of RFID particularly interesting. Easily enough demand for a repeat in the future. Future events: Benchmarking: Cathy has identified potential speakers, but needs to check with David Clover from SAS about the Quality Groups intentions for the event, after he had contacted Dave, unaware of our progress. The liaison between M25 and cpd25 when events are requested needs to be clarified. Dave to add to Steering Group agenda. Focus Groups: Caroline reports that this will take place on 26th April, at SOAS Brunei Gallery. Monica Glynn from Middlesex, speaking about Survey Monkey, and Susan has arranged a speaker to travel from Manchester for the session. This time there will be more time for questions and discussion. Managing Multiple Sites: Martin and Roddie. Likely 3/4 speakers, possibly a full day with a visit. Venue tbc. 18 May, 15th June possible dates. Speakers potentially from Kingston, Anglia Ruskin, UCL, University of the Arts. Action Learning Sets: Kate will meet with Judith to handover her progress with this event. Reflection and Evaluation: Caroline planning to hold this at the end of the programme, likely in July. Research to be done in the meantime. Could focus on reflective practise within an institution. We could also exploit the training given to mentors, which covers reflective practice. This event would be of interest to anyone working towards part of the CILIP framework of qualifications. NDAD Visit: Martin has the contact details, will arrange a date in May or June. The adverts for this should reflect the more technical nature of the visit, as we may attract more IT based staff. British Museum Visit: Emma has arranged 2 dates, Dave and Emma to attend one each. 20th June, 25th July. Space Planning: Postponed until Autumn 2007 (Martin). 5. AOB: The group thanks Kate for her hard work and contribution to the group. We wish her well for the future. Judith Preece has recently taken over as Chair of ARLIS, which may provide some opportunity to exchange contacts and experience. Possible future session: Funding with strings attached. 6. Date of Next Meeting: Tuesday 17th July, University of East London, 10.30am DP 19.2.07 |
