Minutes of the CPD25 Statutory Requirements & Legal Compliance Task
Group held on 23rd September 2004 at 2pm in The Courtauld Institute Present: Jennifer Nordon, (Chair), Tim Davies, Christine Cooper, Karen Ellis Rees, Robert Atkinson, Caroline Lloyd & Caroline Holebrook 1. Apologies Apologies had been received from Ruth Harrison, Gerry Power & Nick Hollis 2. Minutes of the last meeting The minutes were accepted as a correct record 3. Matters arising All matters are included in the agenda 4. New Programme Seminars • Legal Research Skills Jennifer will liaise with Gerry to run this event at the University of Surrey on the 15th November 2004. The event will be run in the afternoon at Surrey. The group agreed that it would like to run the event in London as well. Jennifer will agree a date with Gerry for this. The event will be held at Birkbeck. Action: Jennifer to confirm details with Gerry. • Freedom of Information Day Christine has confirmed Andrew Charlesworth for this event, to be held on 10th December 2004. Caroline will find a venue. Action: Caroline to confirm the Manuscript Room at Senate House Library. • Freedom of Information Breakfast Briefing Jennifer has contacted JSB to run this training. Diane Hodgson will be running the event in January 2005. Jennifer is expecting a training proposal shortly. Action: Caroline & Jennifer to liaise over a venue • Plagiarism Jennifer and Caroline Lloyd will organise this event jointly. The event will focus on the new JISC service. Action: Caroline Lloyd & Jennifer to liaise. • Multicultural Awareness This event is confirmed with JSB for the 16th February 2005 Action: Caroline to confirm Manuscript Room or similar and confirm costing from JSB • Copyright Law Ruth is liaising with Paul Pedley over this event. Caroline will contact him with potential dates. Action: Caroline to contact Paul & Ruth • Health & Safety Jennifer will continue to research the possibility of running an event on Health & Safety • Mental Health Awareness Karen agreed to work with Nick on this event. Visits • Sir John Soane’s Museum This visit will run in October 2004 and is fully booked. Caroline will accompany the visit. • House of Lords Library This visit will run in March or April 2005 subject to confirmation from the Librarian. Action: Ruth to confirm the date. • Laban Dance Centre Caroline Lloyd will request a visit to the Dance Centre for June 2005 5. Any other business None 6. Date of Next Meeting 19th May 2005 at 2pm, College of Communication Karen will book a room. CH 27th September 2004 |
