As LF has now joined the group, it was felt
that membership had reached a better and more practicable level.
RA was not able to attend January’s SG meeting
but went through the minutes, highlighting discussion that was relevant to TG2.
6.1 Disaster Management:
VR reported that this had been for the most
part a very successful event. The room used at Birkbeck was excellent, and it
could be used for similar-sized events in the future. The speakers were
engaging, and this was reflected in delegates’ feedback. However, there was
some suggestion that perhaps the focus was a little too general, and the event
could have benefited from more hands-on activities/discussion.
6.2 Visit to British Film Institute Library:
It was reported that this visit was as equally
well-attended as it had been on previous occasions it had been run. VF reported
that bookings filled up incredibly quickly, with a large waiting list, and many
people keen to find out when another might be run.
7.1 Contract and Supplier Management:
LH reported that two speakers had been arranged
for this event, but that it would be best to hold the event next academic year,
in order to facilitate further planning over the summer period. The group
concurred with this. At the moment, with two speakers, the event could be run
as a half-day. One of the decisions to make over the summer then, is whether to
find another speaker; the event could then be run as a full day, and include
plenty of time for discussion.
7.2 Managing Management Information:
The group will wait until the next meeting for
an update from ML on progress for this event.
7.3 Visit to Wiener Library:
RA reported that this won’t be taking place, as
in fact another of the task groups have already organised a visit there.
7.4 Visit to
RA reported that this will not be taking place
either, as the library have confirmed that they are unable to host any visits
at the moment.
7.5 Visit to the Society of Antiquaries:
The group will wait until the next meeting for
an update from ML on the progress of setting a date for this visit.

Bearing in mind that the date of the next
Steering Group meeting is in May, the date of the next TG2 meeting should be
held off until circa July. RA to send prospective dates to VF.
