CPD25 Task Group 5 : User resources and Services        
               
March update            
               
The group met in January to update on progress in organising this year's events and visits. A number of events are now confirmed in the diary, venue and speakers are organised and publicity os being produced for the website. Our first event at Goldsmiths was oversubscribed so we have been able to offer this session again in February whichg is good news. The next meeting will take place in July. 
Coral Black resgined as Chair of the group in March to take up a new job in New Zealand.

Focus groups and getting the best out of survey results 1/2 day 18th May 2011 Coral, Pat and Antoinella Venue and date confirmed, 3 speakers confirmed      
Mash-ups event - focus on mobile technology full day 13th April 2011 Craigie-Lee and Simon Date and speakers confirmed. Advertised on web site      
Changing role of library assistants - Impact of RFID, self service etc. 11 to 4 27th June 2011 Grianne and Simon Date, venue and speakers confirmed. Advertised on web site      
Visit to Surrey Univertsity and "Splash" with a talk on study skills / information literacy   Postponed till Autumn due to building work being delayed Jennifer Delayed due to overruning of refurbishment work at Surrey. Visit to be re-organised for the Autumn term with a focus on the project and changes taking place      
Visit to Goldsmiths with a talk on Processfix 10th November 2010 and 23 Frbruary 2011 Craigie-Lee Both sessions delivered Both sessions fully booked      
Visit to kingston looking at special collections 21st June 2011 Simon Date confirmed. Advertised on the web site

Session on public engagement - look at public facinglibrary that has a reputation for such activities e.g. Wellcome Library or Women's Library
Wider service convergence looking at collaboration between academic and public libraries

Managing reasing lists - teaching support, reading list software      
Repeats of research support  and enquiry handling software
