Imperial War Museum (Jane)
Two successful visits have taken place, and the possibility arose of a future visit to the photographic archives.

Learning and Teaching (Janet)
Event took place in November, with very positive feedback. The sesison was pitched at just the right level for those atending, and involved lots of group work and discussion. Fully booked at 22 people.

Changing Expectations (Antonella)
One potential speaker identified (from UCL refurbishment project)
Opening hours a possible topic.
Disability provision also suggested.

Barbican Visit (Helen)
Date likely to be the 22nd Jan, to be confirmed.

Conference, 23rd April
Deadlines:
5th March 2007 for final programme, timing and titles. Event to be circulated on Sconul list to widen participation.

January 2007 for pre-publicity, confirmation of exhibitors and themes for keynote speakers.

Talis and 3M are confirmed as sponsors and exhibitors. NLH will also exhibit. Any additional thoughts on exhibitors should be communicated via email.

The role and possible identity of a chair for the day will be discussed in January, but group members are agian invtited to circualte suggestions via email in the meantime.

1040-1120   Theme: FROM THE START OR BEFORE - INVOLVING THE STUDENT INTERACTIVELY= Induction by iPOD (Surrey + Sheffield/Warwick; if SMS to be included make session longer and start earlier)

1120-1140   coffee
1140-1220   Theme: KEEPING UP TO DATE = Example of RSS feeds in NHS and NLH (complemented by exhibition stand)
1220-1300   Theme: INTERACTIVE INFORMATION LITERACY = P.Godwin on blogs for IL (?); if Huddersfield OPAC to be included may need to expand or start earlier

1300-1315   Extra time to view exhibition (or allow for slippage)
1315-1415   lunch
1415-1455   Theme: INTEGRATING RESOURCES AND PERSONALISING SPACE = OU Moodle and application to be decided
1455-1535   Theme: CHALLENGE OF SOCIAL NETWORKING = Jane Secker on research project

Group to contact speakers and give them timings and ask for provisional titles.
