VF advised that regarding recruitment for new members, PS should first contact Mary Nixon (MN), who will advise on staff members on waiting list.

2. Minutes of the last meeting, and any matters arising:
The minutes from the last meeting were accepted as an accurate record. It was noted that since the meeting, the dates of the RFID and Library Assistants events had been changed.

3. Programme of events for 2010/11; events passed since last meeting

3.1 Visit to Kingston University
Organiser: SC
SC reported that this visit had gone well, despite lower levels of interest in the event.

3.2 Mashups
Organising team: CLP and SC
CLP and SC reported that despite one speaker not turning up, the remainder of the speakers had rallied and it had been a very successful event.

3.3 Focus groups and getting the best out of your survey results
Organising team: PS and CB (from March 2011, PS and AY)
PS reported that despite IT difficulties on the day, and a mix of quality in the presentations, feedback for the session was generally good.

3.4 Inquiry Handling Software
Organising team: PS  and JH.
PS reported that generally this event went very well; it agreed that it would definitely be worth revisiting the topic in some form in 2011-12 –  perhaps from the perspective of collecting evidence and measuring effectiveness. One of the speakers had talked about their combined service desk system, and it was felt that there would be scope for a separate event on this.

Both the Research Support event and the visit to Goldsmiths RFID had already been reported on at last meeting.

4. Forthcoming events

4.1 Changing Role of Library Assistants
Organising team: GMD  and JT.
