2.  Welcome
Janet welcomed Ray Phillips from the M25 Consortium & London Health Libraries Joint Working Group.

3. Minutes of the last Meeting
     The minutes were accepted as a correct record.

4. Matters arising
     There were no matters that were not on the agenda.

5. Programme 2003/04 – Reports of Events to Date

Visits

•    City Business Library
This was one of two extra visits. Jane Rosen agreed to lead the visit on the 23rd June.  Jane was pleased to report the visit was a success.

•    BBC  
Rachel led this visit on the 2nd June.  The visit was well organised and covered a large proportion of the BBC Information Services.

Seminars

•    Scholarly Communications
Kathy was pleased to report that this event was useful and interesting.  CPD25 was pleased to welcome David Prosser from SPARC Europe, Bill Hubbard from SHERPA, Dr Paul Ayris from UCL.  Fred Friend chaired the event.

•    LMN/CPD25 Disability & Technology
Caroline reported that this was a large event, 60 people in total, with speakers from Royal National Institute of the Blind, the BBC Access Unit & Assistive Technology Unit and the Disability Rights Commission among others.
The mix between Library and IT staff was fairly even.


•    Virtually there: VLE’s & Libraries
Eilis was able to report that this event drew a large group and was heavily oversubscribed.  The live demonstrations were all successful and the group generated good discussion.

•    E-Resources Update
Caroline was able to report this event had been successfully held at the University of Westminster on the 17th June.  

Enquiry Services: What’s the answer?
This event will be held on the 7th July 2004

•    Learning & Teaching Seminar (Working Title)
This event will be divided into two broad topics
The morning will consider Learning Styles from a theoretical view
The afternoon will consider Adult Learning in practical detail

M25 Quality Group

•    Library Surveys
This event will explore various aspects of creating and conducting library surveys.

M25 Student Centred Services Group – Chair Graham Bulpitt

•    Supplier Event (Working Title)
This event will bring together suppliers of software and materials and invite them to demonstrate them.

•    International Users (Working Title)
This event will be clarified with Graham Bulpitt.  It is likely to be combined with the launch of the new web site.

CPD25 Operations Management Task Grp & User Resources Task Grp

•    Managing Self Issue
This event will cover the management of self issue.  There is obvious scope for cross group working on this topic.  The Operations Management Group and User Resources will work jointly on this event.

•    Customer Care
This event will focus on Customer Care skills, concepts of quality and increase participants’ confidence in handling customers effectively.

Leading on from this years’ event the group felt the focus of this event should be aimed at internal markets, such as academics, perhaps exploring the liaison function more broadly.
