4. Update on 2008/9 events already happened:
4.1 RFID visit to UCL:
CLP reported that this event went well. The tour was comprehensive and professional.
5. Update on 2008/9 events in planning:
5.1 Collaborative software:
This is taking place at Goldsmiths on the 8th May, and will be facilitated by Phil Bradley. It will be a full-day event, with a seminar in the morning and a practical IT workshop in the afternoon. Given the restricted numbers on the hands-on session, it will be possible to book for the morning with lunch, or the whole day – not for the afternoon session only. The morning and afternoon will be advertised as separate events, but concurrently - in order that interested parties can book up for the full day if they wish. Before advertising, more detail needs to be sought with speaker regarding the specific software covered.
5.1 Resource Discovery Day:
CLP reported that as yet she has been unable to speak with JT to liaise. CLP to follow up.
5.2 Future of Librarians:
The conference group met on the 17th February to discuss arrangements. JH reported that it was hoped that the total speakers would be six; all other arrangements were in hand. All of the confirmed speakers will stay for the panel discussion; the order of papers is still to be worked out. The event will be ready for advertising very soon.
6. AOB:
JR queried whether the special collections event that had been suggested some time ago as an event to run in collaboration with another Task Group was still going to be run. The group were unsure about the situation, but agreed that it was a question worth following up.
7. Date of next meeting:
The group will meet at the cpd25 Planning Day, 15th May. The next meeting after that will be 16th June, West Smithfield Site, City University
