Task Group 1: Career Development Task Group
The Career Development Group provides training and development aimed, in particular, at librarians and information professionals in the early stages of their career. The task group will keep a watching brief on the CILIP Framework of Qualifications and provide training to support and complement these qualifications. The group is responsible for an annual programme of workshops which is specifically designed for those studying for the CILIP Chartership and ACLIP qualifications, but which is also of more general application. The group will also focus on topics such as career pathways, succession planning, training for staff such as library assistants (links to NVQ and other schemes), job application and interview skills and training for Staff Development Officers
Task Group 2: Quality Standards and Legal Frameworks Task Group
The task group will cover areas such as human rights, equal opportunities, special needs & disability, health & safety, copyright, data protection.
Task Group 3: Operations Management/User Resources and Services Task Group
The task group will cover areas such as outsourcing, knowledge management, restructuring (inc. options & theories), operational / manpower planning, strategy, quality.
Task Group 4: Personal, Management and Business Skills Task Group
The task group will cover all areas of personal effectiveness and management, including time management, assertiveness, management for other levels of staff. The group will also be responsible for updating the successful Management Skills Programme.
