Project Planning Workshop
Birkbeck College, Malet Street Campus, University of London Monday 19th January 2009. This one day workshop will look at the principles and techniques of project management with staff development consultant, Roger Mayhew. Delegates will have the opportunity to relate the issues discussed to their own projects. The workshop is aimed at a broad range of people, from Library Assistants upwards, who may be planning projects, large or small In the afternoon there will be four case studies illustrating different aspects of project planning - from space and digital projects, to mergers and staffing. Programme: 09.30 – 10.00 Registration and coffee 10.00 – 12.30 Principles and techniques of project management. Roger Mayhew, Staff Development Consultant. During this session delegates will have the opportunity to relate the issues discussed to their own projects. 11.00 – 11.15 Coffee 12.30– 13.15 Lunch 14.00 – 14.30 Merging two universities - staffing issues. Julie Howell, London Metropolitan University 14.30 – 15.00 Planning new spaces. Margaret March, Anglia Ruskin University with designers from the Curious Group 15.00 – 15.15 Tea break 15.15 – 15.45 The Stanley Kubrick Archive and the University of the Arts, London. Sarah Mahurter, University of the Arts London 15.45 -16.15 The East London Theatre Archive Digitisation Project Philip Jones, National Gallery 16.15 – 16.30 Summing up and close.
