We started with those that are relatively quick, cheap, and easy to implement. This includes: • Adding QR codes to the library catalogue • Helping readers pre-register for the library on their phone • Instruction videos for self-issue and self-return, printing, and photocopying instructions • Linking to information on subject collections • Promotion of e-resources in the physical library space • Contact information as QR on our signage 1505 – 1515: Questions 1515 – 1530: Tea/coffee break 1530 – 1610: SCARLET: Bringing Special Collections to life with AR Jo Lambert, SCARLET Project The SCARLET project pioneered use of Augmented Reality (AR) to enhance students’ use of special collections materials in libraries. AR enables students to simultaneously experience the magic of original materials, whilst enhancing the learning experience by ‘surrounding’ the object with digitised content; images, texts and online learning resources. The session will describe the development of SCARLET, evaluation activities to understand how AR can support student learning, a review of lessons learned and implications for the wider community 1610 – 1630: Panel – What Next? 1630: Closing remarks and thanks.
