Audience: Disability reps, Librarians, Managers, frontline and specialist staff.

Aims and purpose of the session:
• To provide a forum of discussion on disability, mental health and student welfare;
• To provide examples of good practice in the area of disability support (particularly in supporting students diagnosed with mental health difficulties).

Speakers:
• Mike Rymer (award winning filmmaker) – Screening of the short film Sick and discussion around issues of mental health
• Gavin Beattie (Academic Support Manager, UCL Library Services / Volunteer, Central London Samaritans) - The Samaritans and mental health
• Sue Jackson (senior lecturer in disability support, London College of Communication) – Sharing experiences of supporting the academic work of students with mental health issues
• Jane Sedgwick (Open University Tutor & Mental Health and Well Being Advisor for the LSE’s Teaching and Learning Centre) - Changing Ideas in Mental Health.

Cost: £45 for CPD25 members & RSA Fellowship members* and £60 for other institutions.

Cancellations less than one week before the event will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. In the event of a ‘no-show’ on the day, the full fee will be charged.
